Farewell in the south of Switzerland

Things have become quiet at the Hofmeiers' holiday home in Ascona. Unfortunately, Mrs. Hofmeier has not been able to travel from Zurich to the sunny region for a long time. So her faithful husband stayed by her side and cared for her together with Spitex. But the elderly couple fondly remembered their beautiful holidays in Ticino. They had saved for a long time until they could realise their dream of a small house around Ascona. They did a lot of repairs and restorations themselves, as they were both very skilled craftsmen.

But now, a week ago, Petra had fallen asleep gently and peacefully with a smile. For the whole family it was clear that her earthly journey would end on Lake Maggiore, in the form of a burial at sea. She already enjoyed a lot swimming as a girl and later even took sailing lessons. So we were also allowed to organise and carry out the burial at sea for the Hofmeiers in the most beautiful weather. One had the feeling that the lake had been waiting for Petra, as we were the only ship in sight far and wide. At the subsequent funeral meal, everyone agreed that Petra had watched us from above and was visibly satisfied with her place of burial.
